Literary manifestation Odzivi Paunu has been established to honour regional poet Paun Petronijevic. In the village of Ribasevina, poet’s birthplace, poets started gathering exactly 13 years after his death (August 12th 1975). On that day, 13 poets gathered around his grave and read their own poetry. On that occasion, the first printed issues of book Dobro leto has been handed to them. Two years later, a Literary Club bearing Paun’s name was founded and based in the Public Library Uzice. Its role, among the others, is to organize this event. Since 1977, local community has entrusted Odzivi Paunu to Uzice Library as the cultural centre and keeper of regional heritage. According to propositions adopted by Literary Club “Paun Petronijevic”, literary manifestation Odzivi Paunu is organized each year, aiming to affirm literary creativity in Zlatibor District. This year, due to general health risks, the 42nd Odzivi Paunu were an online event. Despite absence of live programme, Public Library Uzice was able to gather poets from Zlatibor District for the first time in attempt to, as Zoran Jeremic said to “rekindle the inner flame quenched way too soon” of Paun Petronijevic.

Odzivi Paunu is arranged by the staff of Public Library Uzice. Over a hundred poets took part in these events.

This event is supported by the Town of Uzice and is the oldest literary manifestation in our region.
